The children in Mrs. McClure’s classroom are expected to:
Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Prepared, and Be Safe.
We will be using “keys” as a part of the Classroom Discipline Plan. Each key is explained in detail below.
White Sticker Key means that your child had an excellent day and followed all classroom and school rules.
Green Key means that your child received two verbal warnings. Please discuss with your child the behavior that caused him or her to lose the White Sticker Key.
Yellow Key means that the behavior continued and your child completed a time-out. During time-out, your child completed a Behavior Letter. Please sign and return your child’s letter in his or her STAR Folder.
Red Key means that the behavior continued and your child completed a time-out in another classroom and/or was referred to the office.
Each night your child will bring home his or her Behavior Journal. In this Behavior Journal you will find a calendar for each month that we are in school. At the end of each day your child will receive a stamp/sticker on the corresponding calendar square if he or she has earned the White Sticker Key. If another key color is earned, your child will color the calendar square that color. For example, if your child received two warnings and earned a green key, the calendar square will be colored green. An explanation of the behavior which earned the key will be written on the notebook paper in the Behavior Journal. Please initial in each calendar square daily and return to school the next day!
REWARDS: If your child earns four White Sticker Keys each week he or she will be rewarded with a trip to the treasure box or he or she may choose a coupon for extra computer time, lunch with the teacher, etc.
